Bajaj Auto further extends warranty and free services until 31 July 2020 for its two-wheelers and commercial vehicles. The organization had announced earlier that guarantees and free services would be extended until 31 May 2020. Bajaj Auto announced on its website that the extended warranty is intended for vehicles whose warranties and time of free service expire between 20 March and 31 May 2020. The COVID-19 lockdown is now reported to be further extended beyond 18 May 2020.
From 4 May 2020, all Bajaj dealerships have resumed sales and service operations throughout India. The dealerships follow all required safety guidelines laid down by the Indian government. The business also obtained the requisite permits from local authorities for dealership operations. Both selling and service contact points were sanitized and strict guidelines for social distance were put in place. Each dealer would have mandatory thermal scanning at the entrance for all workers and tourists. Employee wellbeing should also be tracked regularly.
The company has resumed activities at its Chakan, Pune manufacturing plant with a single work shift starting at 8 am. After the government relaxed constraints on the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, the company restarted partial operations at the manufacturing plant. Bajaj still maintains an eye on the position of its vendors, who were shut down after the year of lockdown.
