Cab aggregator Ola announced on Monday the ‘Ola Emergency’ service in Gurugram for non-COVID-19 related medical travel to over 100 hospitals in the area. Launched in partnership with the Haryana Government, the service will have a dedicated network of cars equipped with masks and sanitizers that will be driven by specially trained drivers, it said.
Users can pick the ‘Ola Emergency’ category from the Ola app and enter the drop-down position from the list of available hospitals in the area. The service is for medical transport that is not connected to COVID-19 and does not require an ambulance, such as dialysis, chemotherapy, scheduled check-ups, and physical injuries, among others.
Customers will be paid a nominal fee on the basis of a tariff card to compensate drivers-partners for their services, it added.
Anand Subramanian, Spokesperson, and Head of Communications, Ola, said, “Trips to medical emergency hospitals are inevitable, even at the present time. With Ola Emergency, we will make it easier to get to and from hospitals around the city via the Ola app.
“With over 100+ City Hospitals mapped, “Ola Emergency”‘ will be available 24×7 and will provide people with a reliable, affordable and secure transportation solution for medical trips that do not need an ambulance,” he added. The service has already been launched in Bengaluru, Vizag, Bhubaneshwar, Nashik, and Varanasi, and will soon be launched in other major cities,” he said.
We are thankful to the Government of Haryana for the opportunity to work together to represent the people. With over 100 hospitals planned out in the area, ‘Ola Emergency’ will be available 24×7 and will provide people with a reliable, affordable, and secure transportation solution for medical trips that do not need an ambulance.
